Mmmm, screenshot

This is KDE/Xgl/Compiz with a Milkish sort of cgwd theme. Just enough transparency to make things interesting. Of course Compiz is best when you see it in action.

The wallpaper from Interfacelift. Such a nice wallpaper.

Is kxdocker (kicker?) stretched onto both monitors? No pager support with compiz under KDE yet?

Compiz is easily at least two years ahead from anything we'll see on OSX, let alone the basic compositing effects that Aero can do and will be stuck with for the next six years.

Please update your Firefox theme to use Tango!

Also, what's /mnt/loonix? Just curious since I have seen it in past screenshots too. Nice looking desktop you got there. I never managed to get Konqueror (as a file manager) to look as good.

Kicker at the bottom is only on one monitor (my widescreen). At the top it's two separate panels. When you open a window it goes to the taskbar in the panel of the screen the window is on. Very handy. KDE is great at dual-heading.

I don't know if Compiz supports KDEish multiple desktops yet. It didn't last time I tried. It must have some internal representation of workspaces apart from the multiple workspaces standard everyone else follows. Yeah, it's funny that you can already have a Linux desktop that looks EXACTLY like Vista. Except better, and more powerful. There are already tons of Vista-ripoff window decorations for Gnome, KDE, Compiz, and XFCE4 even. Probably fluxbox too at this point. Though Vista window decorations look like crap anyways.

loonix is my second computer.
