Screenshots - KDEtastic
I haven't done much with my GUI for a good long while. I've been more focused on making it functional rather than pretty. I decided to see what I've been missing the the realm of KDE theming. Apparently I've been missing a lot. This Domino theme is on par with anything in Gnome. It's the complete opposite of the bulky, cartoonish look KDE has by default. Very subtle and soft and I think it looks tasty. The rounded menus and slightly 3D text almost make it look like Englightenment.

I've been using baghira in the milk look for a while now for the little Qt needs I have, will check domino out, doesn't look as bad as most Qt styles.
I'm not one for dark themes, but that looks very nice.
That looks really nice. Do you think you could detail everything you're using (fonts, icons, color, style+config), or roll up one of those crazy KDE themes, for a constant tinkerer such as myself? :)
Here's a try at making a .kth file. Not sure if it'll work. Try downloading this, it's a configuration for Domino that I didn't edit much, and it comes with a color scheme and Amarok theme and all kinds of stuff. The font is Trebuchet MS 9. Wallpaper. Icons.
Could you say what html/php syntax highlight are you using in vim? Looks nice and clear.
It's ps_color . Font is ProggySquareTT 12.
thank you
After all these years, you've converted me to using dark colours for more than a glance before switching back. :) I like using the Buuf icons with these dark colours.
I don't normally like dark schemes either, but this one works. Normally any kind of white page (i.e. web pages) would burn my eyes because of too much contrast with a dark background, but maybe this shade of dark grey solves that problem.
Yeah, the selection of dark greys and artsy-looking icons really work well together. I'm using OpenSUSE 10.2 and even the main Suse menu looks great (though it has a light grey bar at the top, but its not too bad). It is as you said, easy on the eyes. However my LCD (I use a notebook) shows LCD-ish kind of reflections when I turn the screen back too far (open up the notebook) more than having the screen perpendicular to my eyes), which is definitely more apparent for dark colors than whites. I guess it shows LCD's are designed to show whites better. :)
Nonetheless, I love this theme so I'm going to stick with this for a while. Keep working on Buuf icons, they are great - but there are a few icons on my system that still show up as non-Buuf. Like in my system tray, NetworkManager, the Kerry Beagle search icon, Klipper and the Kpowersave icons are all non-Buuf.
Cheers. :)
I'm enjoying this. Thought you should know that I googled for “crazy kde screenshots”, and this was the first hit. :)
What firefox theme is that?
It's called Mint. I think you can get it from the official Firefox theme site.
